Weight Loss Glossary D

Double Blind Conditions

A standard research technique used by most reputable researchers to factor out bias on the part of either the subjects of the research and the actual researchers themselves. This measure is taken to ensure that the results of the study aren't being influenced in some way by the personal feelings of those involved in the research.

Double blind conditions typically means that neither the people who are administering the treatments to the subjects, or the subjects themselves are aware of which treatments contain active ingredients (or the variable being tested) or the control or placebo treatment.
