Saturated Fat

Saturated fats are commonly found in animal products but also in vegetable oils. The Medline Medical Dictionary recommends that foods containing over 20% saturated fat should be avoided. Eating too much saturated fat may cause an increase in LDL and total cholesterol (risk factors in heart disease).
